  Is flirting just harmless fun ?

  on some base level, flirting is not destructive.

  in fact, it may be a perfectly natural and healthy way for two people to interact.

  yet, as the level of involvement in flirting increases, the emotional stakes rise for the two involved parties and the uninvolved member of the relationship.

  Because of my history I have some strong opinions on this. I may need more time to get over it, but here goes...

  If you are in a serious relationship, wether it be married or commited to each other. Flirting is disrespectful to your partner.

  I have also found it hides a strong possiblilty that they are attracted to the other person, but cloak it a way so you feel you are overreacting if you are uncomfortable with this 'flirtation'. Doesnt necessarily mean anythings going on though.

  I just dont think you would even flirt with someone, if you did not have an atrraction on some level.

  If it goes on for along time, it has been my experiance, that something more is going on. If longterm flirtation with the same person suddenly stops, thats an even bigger red flag.

  I've been there and I've watched it from the side too.

  Next time , eye poking will happen.

  The treasure I just now found ...

  this morning i was unpacking family heirlooms that have been some six months in storage.

  in the bottom of a cranberry glass dessert dish was what i took to be a tiny curtain ring.

  What do we do with TOTAL FREEDOM?

  i left my cushy job at the bookstore and i'm totally free of employment responsibilities for the first time in millions of years.. i guess i'm now retired.. i can sleep as late as i want to but my body won't let me.

  my eyes pop open automatically waaaaay too early.. i can go where i want.

  the question now becomes: what do we do with total freedom?.

  I'd get a map, thumbtack it to the wall and get my darts out. Close my, eyes and throw.

  I imagine I would need to learn a new language.. Get the Rosseta Stone, and my oldest grandchild or likeminded child.

  Take the time and enjoy learning the language with them and GO. Stay in places , like hostels were you are in touch with people. Make it cheap ,,, the longer the better.

  Bring pen, water colors, stamps and moleskines. No one needs to tell you what to do with them....smile..

  Reminds me of the funerals on the other side of the family (Catholic side)

  Read "Lust for LIfe' alittle to young. I cried when I saw my first painting of his, at the ripe old age of 40.

  Will the Apostate and C.B. JR. I agree.

  Johnny Cash's version of 'Hurt' gets me everytime too.

  i remember my mum standing at the kitchen sink preparing little cypriot meat patties in a beat up enamel dish.

  there was a window overlooking the small garden where me and my brother and sisters used to play (wonderful, wonderful times before the cult got its tentacles into our family).. my mum used to sing lots of tunes but this lynn anderson song is the one i remember .

  I was a born in too. But I stayed in well past the time of Reason.

  Terry's heading reminds me of a new/old friend's words.

  He said 'your picker is off' . [Of course, I heard pecker. :-). I was lamenting my stupid fumble into an obviously bad relationship.

  I have to agree; I need to work on my picker. No religion. No relationships. [dont hold me to the last one]

  Do Children Who Get Baptized Have Any Legal Leeway To Leave The Religion When They Are Older Without Shunning?

  after reading the threads on watchtower encouraging 10 year olds to take the baptismal plunge, i wonder if they have an actual legal right to terminate their agreements without any penalty enforced by the organization.. i think those of us who were "too young" to enter into any contract could be absolved of any agreements, even religious vows, because we were still obviously too young to understand all the "fine print" before signing.. what do you think??

  I was wondering if it can make a difference if you were baptized before the baptism questions were changed.

  You were not pledgeing yourself to an Organzation then.

  I was traveling by car through Germany with some local Witness friends. While we were passing a Smurf amusmant park,

  I asked if they wanted to stop, as a joke .

  They rolled their eyes, and replied 'thats for babies'. They didnt get the joke obviously. LOL

  They had never heard any of the silly stories about the Smurfs being demo.
